Red Alert 3 has been confirmed by EA! Yay!

There’s a little buzz around a possible Red Alert 3 game being created by EA. All the below images are unconfirmed.

  • Seems to use the same game engine as CNC3:TW
  • New side – Japan
  • Singleplayer Campaign: The Russians use the time machine, in order to kidnap Einstein. The allies are therefore very weak, since they never got the Chronosphere or all Einstein’s inventions
  • Powerplants buildable on water?

These images are either a very good CNC3 mod, a well-executed cruel hoax or the real deal.

I’m obviously hoping that they are real but it seems odd that EA would have CNC3:KW, Tiberium and RA3 running at the same time.

CNC3:TWE General Update

Development of CNC3:TWE 1.0 is well under way.

Some good news for map makers…  new textures.

New Textures

Here are just some of the textures to be included in CNC3:TWE 1.0:

Note: The textures above are test versions with only default ‘normal maps’ applied.

Final versions will include ‘normal maps’ for each making them look more real.

They are working in Worldbuilder and in-game

The list of current texture types is:

  • Snow
  • Lava
  • Grass
  • Rock
  • Ocean Floor
  • Minerals

The textures will be used in a special first GDI Singleplayer Mission (in Custom Map Menu) in version 1.0 of CNC3:TWE.

A pre-order is now available at Game Stop.  The date for release on that site is 3/3/2008, but I’m sure that will change.
